F250 Tire Fitment Guide

GKC I have a 2002 F250 SuperDuty and can't seem to get consistent information regarding how wide a wheel and how large a tire I can put on my truck. I don't want to do a suspension lift but would like to upsize the tires and wheels as much as possible. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

F250 Tire Fitment Guide

Check out natltire.com, they have a fitment guide on their site.
From personal expierence, I put 35x12.50x16.5 with 9 3/4" wide rims ,on my 01 sd with X springs, when it was stock, and the tires rubbed on the inner fender well when turning, real bad if hitting a bump while turnning.

F250 Tire Fitment Guide

I just put BFG AT 295/75 R16 on my 2000 F250SD CC 4WD. They fit and look great. I dont think any bigger tire will work if you plan on doing any off road driving, my 295's just clear when turned and under bounce. Awsome tire though.

Good luck,
Ranger

GKC - Ranger: thanks for the reply. Are you running stock wheels? Once again, thanks. GKC

F250 Tire Fitment Guide

According to BF Goodrich's web site, the 295/16 is .6 inches larger in diameter and only .3 inches wider than the 285/16. I'd be interested in if anyone has used these with the XL stock Argent steel wheels and if there is or isn't rubbing. If it does rub, where? I have a V10, manual, with 4.30 Diffs so I am not worried about gearing.

F250 Tire Fitment Guide

I put a 285/75/16 BFG AT on 16x10 rims bone stock suspension and they rubbed on hard turns, didn't rub any on bumps. I would think that you would be ok running a 285's or 295's on a 16x8 and not get any rub. If your going to off road the 295's may cause some damage on a stock suspension if your running a 16x8 or larger rim.

F250 Tire Fitment Guide

I just bought my 250 and one of the first things that I did was get BFG AT 295/75/16 on a 16x8 rim. Perfect fit and no rubbing. I was told by several tire shops (including Ford's) that any bigger will rub.

i have an excursion v10 and i had 295/75/16 on stock rims. It looked and drove fine. they never rubbed when i went off road. i have since then put a leveling kit on the truck and went to 305/70/16 on 16x10 rims... im not sure but i think i could have put them on without rubbing since i can fit 315s without rubbing. if you want a really inexpensive leveling kit check this link out... 99-04 Ford F250/F350 Super Duty 2.8" Leveling Lift Kit: eBay Motors (item 230529576637 end time Oct-22-10 18:49:55 PDT) .... less then $100 and i havent had any problems
