Ford STX or XLT

I am going to finally buy my first truck and after looking at the titans and f150, I am going with a ford. However, what are some differences between the STX and XLT? I really like the look of the STX. I am looking for a supercab 4x2. I have always drove volkswagons and I am looking for a change.

STX has body-colored bumpers and nostril-grille , different wheels, etc. and you can ONLY get the 4.6L engine, which is a good engine, but for another $800 you couldda 'upgraded' to the 5.4L engine with any other trim it's an option on.

XLT adds carpeting everywhere, better cloth seats (supposedly), option for the 5.4L engine, electric windows, mirrors, & locks, honeycomb-grille, tachometer, overhaid rail system, more available-options to add on from factory.

Hope this helps!

OH.....can't get yellow in the XLT, but you can in the STX, other than that.....you have more color options in the XLT (STX has 6 options, the XLT has 10+ many of those available in a two-tone package too)

with the STX you can get the audiophile (high end sound system that sounds great) but XLT buyers are not good enough to get the audiophile.

get the STX and save some cash. you can buy some SS mirrors and get rid of the ugly side view mirrors, then with an alarm you can get power doors. and you can scoop up an STX with a lot more options than you can get an XLT with far less options. good luck anyhow.

Thanks for the input. I am thinking about getting a fully loaded STX supercab 4X2. But I do have a couple more questions. How does the interior look compare to the XLT model. And someone said that the STX model is lower to the ground than the XLT model, is that true? How hard is it to find the flareside on STX and XLT models? Thanks again.
