painting rusted bumper
i browsed through past threads and couldn't find anything. my truck is in excellent shape, but the front bumper is an eyesore. it has a little bit of rust. its a grey painted bumber. the rust spots almost look like it was done by the wind from highway driving. i couldn't imagine it being difficult to paint a bumber and would like to save the 50 bucks. how would i go about doing this so the rust doesn't bubble through the paint. does anybody know what to use to keep the stock ford grey color? thanks.

I would suggest taking a wire brush and brushing the whole thing (thats what I did w/ my tube bumper) or sandblasting whichever you can. And probably get some of that stuff that turns rust into primer. It sounds stupid but I did that and then rustoleum on top of that and it hasn't rusted yet but I have to repaint it every once in a while. You should be able to find the color you want.
