Blank Filler on Dashboard?

Just bought a 2004 F-250, (SC v-10 6sp) replacing the 1999. In the dashboard, just in front of my right knee, there's a dumb "pocket" I guess for sunglasses or the garage door opener in case you have a garage big enough for this truck. But on the 2004, there's a blanked out filler to the left of the pocket that my 1999 did not have. Anybody know what this is used for? Is there a switch or pilot light or something that goes there depending on an option I don't have? I love mods, and I might be able to use something like that!

Models with ESOF (electronic shift on the fly) have the switch mounted there.

I have the same little filler on my 02. I believe that's where the Adjustable Pedal switch goes.... It's got lots of potential in my mind.

I have the '04 Superduty brochure sitting next to me. The picture shows the adjustable pedal switch is next to the little pocket and the blank contains the ESOF switch.

It looks as if the switch doesn’t take up the whole blank, it is added to the blank. Kinda cheesy if you ask me.

If your talking about a small switch sized filler it is in fact the adj. pedal switch which I have on my truck. Above that would be the 4WD Rotary Switch. I believe that the adj. pedal switch part number is 1W7Z-9G604-AA.

To the left of the heat/AC control is a panel containing the ESOF switch and the reverse sensor shutoff switch.

Below this panel (to the left of the "pocket") is where the adjustable pedal switch would go. I bought my truck with all the options, but decided not to get adjustable pedals as I am not a midget.

Nice rose... is the flower-holder and rose part of the XLT convenience group? It isn't available with the XL or the XL decor group I take it?

It's part of the IYWTGLSUALHPTRIT (If You Want To Get Laid Shut Up And Let Her Put The Rose In There) option group. She's gone now, and so is the rose. But I would gladly re-apply the rose if she would re-apply herself.

Ah the infamous IYWTGLSUALHPTRIT package, why do women have to mark their territory with stupid stuff like that? I had to buy two new CD cases and new pillows for my bed after my ex, she had a compulsion to write stupid junior high like crap on my things. I guess it is better than peeing on the seat though.

Is that doo-hickey to the left of the cell-phone adapter plug-in in your picture a thingamabobber that turns the air bags on and off? I have noticed a false panel on mine where obviously SOMETHING could go.

Thanks,

The airbag cutoff switch is only in regular cabs and extended cabs. Ford (and the Govt. I think) figures you can throw your kids in the back seat in crew cabs instead of having them in danger of the air bag.

the only behicles that have that shutoff switch are ones that can't have a child seat in the rear. this would be regular cab pickups and older extended cabs.
