You can replace the rear main seal by just pulling the transmission. I did mine while I had the transmission out for another purpose last year. Once the tranny is out it takes about 10 minutes to yank the seal and drive in another one.
Changing the pan gasket was a little more work. You don't have to pull the intake manifold as is Ford's proceedure. Instead, I jacked the motor up, dropped the pan, unbolted the oil pump and let it drop in the pan. Then worked the pan out. Replaced the gasket, worked the pan back in, bolted up the pump and pan.
I wish I had known about that gasket from Summit. That would make it a lot easier.
so with your infomations, i guess that leak isnt that bad to fix... after the test drive i checked it again and found few droplets.. so i know its a pretty bad leak.. u guys think i can offer him 2400 for that clubwagon??? that would be an awsome deal!! )
