Just got a call from my dealer. They told me that they are going to order me a new truck since they can't find one at any of the regional dealer's. I was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get it and was wondering if this seems like the usual time frame or is the dealer being optimistic.

I was glad when my dealer did a search and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for because I wanted to wait till winter was fully over with (ordered in Feb.). They checked in Maine, NH, Vermont, Mass, RI and CT without finding one exactly like I wanted which I thought was surprising. It took around seven weeks for mine to get here.

Chuck, glad to hear you're getting some action from your dealer. Mine took 10 wks to arrive. They told me 6-8 but I think dealer volume has a lot to do with it. I think the guy I'm dealing with could probably be rated as a smaller delaer. I hope you get it quick and have good luck with it!

 

My wait was 5wks.The dealer is 125mi.from Kentucky Truck assembly plant.If they ship rail it will take a while.The further away you live the better chance of rail shipment.
BTW,if you order exactly what you want,then IMO the wait will be worth it in the long run.

 

 

Mine took about 2 1/2 weeks. They told me 4 to 6 weeks. Boy was I surprised when it showed up that quick.

kstyle1 how far are you from the truck plant? I live in MA so I'm pretty far away.

 

CEEJR, I'm just outside of the Metro Detroit area in MI. The dealer I bought from is the #2 best selling Ford dealer in the country. That's what they advertise anyway. It is definitly the biggest dealership I have ever seen.
