Thanks FireMarshall - i figured that they were probably in use somewhere but I know I have never seen them....the only point i was disputing is that they were never never never on any HumVee in desert storm nor were they on any military vehicle in deployment. Those tires are junk and are not capable of withstanding anything but regular driving conditions. I would not use them on anything beyond a dirt or gravel road.....they are too skinny for their height, and you'd have to lift too much to get them to clear, and they are weak.

Those 36's i had on the 250 man - they were awesome - probably the best tires that I have ever had for a generall all purpose all use tire and the best in the mud....they clean out quick and dig like no other.....better than a thornbird type in my book..

Heres some pics of the mil M/T's

http://www.amgmil.com

Go here and look at their gallery. All kinds of pics with a hummer and other military vehicles useing the M/T OZ tire.

KPMariner05 those tires on your truck are what they used to call the R/T in civilain terms. Your right, they are an awesome tire. They have been discontinued for civvy service for some time though. I think that they are just for mil use now. Like I said before, everytime Goodyear has something good, they dis it.

As far as your opinion on the M/T's, I disagree with you. They were a very good tire as well. Their traction was rated well for both dry pavement and snow. They were designed for off-road use, hence, M/T (mud terrain). Of course, they are discontinued to civvy service also. They were replaced with the MT/R.

Anywho, it's really up to everyone's preference. The R/T is a great tire but it had its down sides too as does all tires.

Everyone have a great one!

How much closer than that? i thought it was big enough. They are 37/12.50/16.5 military OZ, goodyear m/t tires. hard to balance, some took almost 20 oz of weights. pretty damn noisy. other than that, I love em, especially for the price. wheels are pro-comp.

80 or so just for a little bit. I havent seen it in writing yet but there is talk that the speed rating is 82. I do know that on a 30 minute ride to work on the highway, I get right out and touch the tire, still cool. Mostly cruise on them about 65 now. I miss going any speed up to 96 with my 325/50/22 toyo tires and they were quiet too. lol

Right on that's good to know. I don't mind cursing at 80 especially if it makes my truck look better and I'll have my wheels and tires I have on here now as back up incase I'm going on a road trip.

So they aren't terrible then?

If you can get them balanced correctly, and the tires are good, you should be ok. I'm still trying to work out a hard vibration at about 68 mph. The balancer shows 0 after the spin. other than that, you wont be going 80. if you do, just make sure your eyeballs are screwed in tight. cause they will shake.... go to a heavy truck shop to have the tires balanced. the regular car tire balancers cant handle the weight. I also just weighed a single tire and wheel. 122 lbs..

Racerx7775, you have a 5" lift and you fit the 37s on. I'm pondering them to replace the 315/75-R16 Toyos that came on mine. Do you think it's possible to cram those in my wheel wells with just a 4" lift? I have 315/75-16s now with aftermarket wheels (unknown width) and no rubbing that I've seen.
I have no problem trimming, bending or smashing whatever I need to in order to open up the front and back of the wheel well. But I haven't found instructions on the forums yet.

If you don't mind: where did you get your wheels and what offset/backspacing did you get? I haven't

Pic of my truck: (just bought it yesterday, sorry for the quality)
