Timing a 302, assistance needed

I am contimplating checking and if need be, adjusting the timng to my 1989 E150 Van with a 302 fuel injected.
I need adescrpition and a picture and a location of what a "inline spout connector " is.....does it look like a fues holder, what color is it, where is it?

The engine starts great , revs up and then as it is warmingup, it revs up and down up and down and finally stalls. why? Also , if I attempt to keep it going by depressing the accleerator, it will rev up faster but still will die no mater how much fuel I give it...why?

When it is warmed up it is fine except for the occsional back fire and ping ing, and why is this happening?
I hope to hearfrom someone taoday so I can start repairs, it will be 50 toady and 30 tommarow and I have no choice but to work out side it!

The spout connector is a small plastic rectangular connector, about .75 X .5 x 1.0 wired near the TFI module. it has a shorting plug that you can pull out (so its like a socket and plug). You do this to check the total advance of the ignition. If I recall, ignition timing will jump up around 30 degrees? with it out.

If you find the stalling problem, let me know. MIne acts the same way occasionally.

backfire and ping,,,,when was the last time you replaced the spark plug wires, cap, etc. (this is just a guess, but with a properly timed engine this doesn't happen very often. gotta be timing or ignition I would think..) could be a misfire. but just a guess on this. maybe after you check your timing you'll find something there.
