Angry Frosted over AC and intermittent Blower

What could cause the cylinder shaped object under the hood to get much frost on it?

The Blower Switch in the cab is new, the blower itself tests good. Sometimes it doesn't spin though and when it is not spinning and I'm not paying attention it seems to cause this cylinder to frost over pretty heavy. Is there a link between the Blower spinning and this Cylinder working properly??? If so what is it? I hear liquid moving around over on the passenger side when I'm experiancing the problem too. Kinda like a jam up somewhere that is either caused by the blower not spinning or possble a clogged line (?).

Ok, I'll take a stab at it. Been a while since I've attempted to troubleshoot ac systems. The cylinder sounds like you are describing the receiver/dryer or accumulator (same thing). All it is is a compartment filler with a filter media to filter the refrigerant in the system. If that is what you have that is frosting up, you first need to check the high and low pressure readings of the air conditioning system. This will determine whether you have the correct amount of refrigerant in the system. If refrigerant amounts are ok, you could have a accumulator that has filtered all it can and is clogged. The intermittent blower may be due to a relay that will not complete the circuit because of complications with the other things mentioned above. Not positive about all this, but hope some of this will help.
