ROyal purple synthetic

Capone and fordborn,
Glad to hear someone else here is using Royal Purple besides me. I just started using RP in my PSD and am happy so far. Been using it in my wife's Explorer for sometime with good results.
I switched to RP after reading the N.C. State Univ. report (I live in Raleigh, NC and work for the Hwy. Patrol) I also spoke to the director of our fleet purchasing section and found that we are using it in all of the EVOC cars. He also told me that during the study done with NCSU, a reduction in emissions was documented. We aren't using it in the cars statewide due to cost of RP vs. dino and warranty issues for extended drain intervals.
My nest step is to change the wife's vehicle over to RP synthetic trans fluid. The EVOC course supevisor told me that RP's fluid was the only thing they found to keep the Camaro's from eating the trans during the training for those cars.
Also - I'm just a user because I make my living doing "eight for the state" in the firearms training section.
Phil

I wonder, how many of you folks using RP would consider using Castrols Syntec and paying 8 bucks a qt for it? Are you aware that RP is a Gp III dino "synthetic"? I would suggest that you read their MSDS and read it carefully. It states"Base oil (synthetic)- Synthetic ADDITVES with Iso- paraffinic diluents". Walks like a duck-Quack!

Seems like OPPY doesn't like purple...so, good for him.

Horsepuller, the comments are aimed at the ridiculous MSDS that they post. Read it carefully. If you need to have any info regarding an accident with it, like your 3 year old drinks it, best of luck. You have to call for the info, imagine that at 3 AM. Who do you think is going to answer? As to the mineral binder, most motor oils using Gp III or PAO basestocks use mineral oils for the binding of the additive package as these basestocks don't mix well with the additives. Even M1 is again using it.
Let me also add, I didn't say it was bad oil, only grossly overpriced for the contents in the bottle.
