ford is going to offer the truck with a v6 and manual trans. you can go with the base XL truck or the "comercial" truck for a work truck.

Noticed in your signature that you have air intake mods. What kind of difference does that make on performance/gas mileage?

I really wish Ford would put an inline six in the new 150!! Just think of how many people who loved the old 300 I6 would buy them. Ford needs to at least offer a good v-6 in the 150, not the 4.2 which is noisy and not that powerfull. Not to mention the fact that it is prone to intake leaks. I would like to see them cut two cylinders off the 5.4 for a v-6 if they won't offer an I6. Come on Ford you are supposed to have the Best truck line, why not offer the best 6cyl, after all that is what most fleets buy!

DeckedoutF150, Thanks for the feedback. I would DEFINATELY be interested in increasing HP and mileage - after all - who wouldn't?

I assume it's a new F-150 - 5.4 3V?

Where do you get this equipment? Internet? Hot Rod Magazine?

How much?

LOL... sorry about all the questions... These are the kinds of things I want to do to my new F-150 when I get it.

Answer when you can - I know I dumped a lot of questions on ya.

THANKS!

i dont have a new F150. mine is a 2002 but in have noticed some places are offering intakes for the 2004. try motorhaven.com, truckperformance.com and the magazine i get is Truckin' and it stays up to date on all the things coming out for the new trucks. As a matter of fac JBA already has headers for the 2004 F150 with a 5.4L and also has an exhaust package for it. so check out some of the websites and pick up a truckin magazine. they are filled with things on the new trucks.

I agree with the frustrations of "minimal" options and offerings in this new Ford......as I have my own challenges and wishes for what "could be" or "could have been". I hope, and suppose, that some of these changes ARE on the horizon.
But c'mmon guys....let's be patient...this is the first year of this new design and it ALREADY comes in 46........Yup FORTY-SIX different combinations! I applaud Ford atleast, for the options they DO have......but all these suggestions are great, and hopefully we'll see some as reality.

i was reading my new Truckin' magazine today and in it they said ford is looking for a company to help them design a V6 diesel for the new F150. Last year they cancelled it with international. i dont see why they wouldnt go with international and develop a power stroke to go in the F150.
