RanchoRS9000X shocks

I'm putting shocks on the toy soon I've used Rancho5000 's on several jeeps, but I was wondering about these adjustable shocks for twice the price. Are they worth it?Are thry rebuildable or do they wear out like everything else?Anyone use the remotes?thanks guys you've got a kicka$$ forum here let's keep it up.

I have 1990 Bronco XLT with Skyjacker 6" suspension lift. I started with RS5000s. Great shocks, but 3 years ago I bought the RS9000s, and there really is a difference in the settings. I leave them on 5 for highway use and the truck rides like a car; very little vibrations. On 1, it will rattle your teeth out, but it makes a heck of a difference off-road. Unfortunately, I'm going to be replacing them next month with my tires (35" thornbirds purchased at same time as RS9000s) because I didn't do much offroading and they did wear out in the highway range. There is excessive body role when turning right unless I set the left side shocks to about 2.

As for the remote, everyone I've talked with that has it says it is worthless and is more of a headache then its worth. Save the money, it's not hard at all to adjust the shocks by hand.

Bottom line, I love them and I'm willing to spend the $400.00 for the six replacements. If you don't plan on going off-road a lot, you might want to invest in something a little less expensive. The truck's heading to Iceland with me for the next three years, so it should get some good exercise.

Good luck

35" Super Swamper Thornbirds

Great Shock! I put 130,000 miles on mine and they still feel like new. No leaks.

I think they are the way to go even if you don't go off roading.
