87 5.8 F-250 bad ign. switch?
Hey fellas,
First post and I have a quik question.
Have an 87 F-250 5.8 liter. I have replaced the ignition switch starter and starter selinoid. The truck starts fine and runs, but when I go to shut it down nuthin happens. It won't cut any of the power and the truck continues to run. I checked all the wiring and grounds and everything looks tip top. I was wondering if there was a componenet that I may be overlooking that could be the culprit. Any ideas would be appreciated.
BTW..I did a search and didn't come up with anything.
Thanks in advance,
Jason

When you replaced your ignition switch at the base of the column did you put the linkage (long .09" rod from key swtich to ignition switch) in the proper detent spot -- so it pulls the contact back when you turn the key to the off position?
Its possible to put it in the wrong position so that it just pushes and does not pull.
