Cool '96 Northwood F-150

Hello;
I just came into ownership of a '96 F-150 XLT Northwoods edition (number 18 of only 2500) Has anyone ever heard of this version?
I think this is the only one I've seen this version from any year before or since. She's a beauty with an extended cab, 4X4, blue with a silver strip along the bottom edge and matching cap to boot. Thanks for having me over,
Later

Yes, I've heard of it before, apparently it was a cosmetic package that Ford put out on the F150s. Ford offered several cosmetic pagages from time to time, most of them look really nice.

What size motor do you have in your Northwoods? I have heard of these, They are very heavy duty most with a 300-6 and a ZF 5speed.

In 1996 the engine options were 4.9L I-6, 5.0L V8 or 5.8L V8, The 5.4 was not available until 1997 in the F-150 and light duty F250s. No way you had a Triton 5.4L engine in 1996.

Just to be difficult I had a F150 with a build date of 3/96 that had a 4.6L Triton...

It also had the newer body style, lol.

Sounds like a regional cosmetic package of very limited value.

They started making the 97s way early in 96. Some of them may actually have been considered a 1996.5, not totally sure about that though.

Yes it was a 5.8L been soooo long ago that I had that truck it slipped my aging mind and the fact that I've had a 5.4 03 pick up since new. I purchased the truck in the fall of 95. I had just brought a 95 xlt which had some serious issues after getting it home. So the dealership dealer traded it back, by the time this occured no 95 were left on the lot so I ended up with the 96 which had the northwoods package(it was not installed yet) at an additional charge which I was NOT going to pay for due to the mistakes on the 95, so the salesman slipped the northwoods package into the storage bin behind the rear seat. I placed the dash tag on and put the tailgate(which was the same as the fender ones) emblem on, the fender emblems I still have in there orginal packaging. I purchased this truck in northern Michigan. It also a two tone XLT. If I look real hard I'm sure the key ring will turn up too, they were limited to 2,500 if my memory servers me right.

Came across these items yesterday tucked away in a box . The medallion is highly detailed and raised with a deer bear duck and eagle on it. OEM packaging still intact. Floor mats slightly used (put those in my 98 for a few months) with a little discoloration where your left foot would be. Other than that these items are in very nice shape. Thinking about ebaying these items have no real use for them.
