94 ford probe and 89 mazda b2600i

hi all we have been trying to find a engine out of a ford that will bolt to the 89 b2600i mazda truck and well a guy we know had a 94 ford probe engine we thank its 2.0 but we don't know it has (DOHC) and is a four banger and the plate on the back of the ford probe and the mazda are just about the same the pins are the same and the main 4 bolt holes are the same but the bottom holes are differant on the probe but could use the mazda plate on the ford engine then they would be the same as bell housing. does anyone know if there is a engine out of a rear wheel drive car/truck that would be better that is the same as the ford probe maybe one with a carb. ether a 4 or v6 ford engine that has same bell and same side the starter is on the passinger side. the mazda also has a 5 speed manual trans. and is 4 wheel drive. Te engine for the mazda is a lot of money to fix or to get a rebuilt engine and is not popular so if someone can help me on this promble I well be very thankful to you. Thanks agian

Really, rebuilding the 2.6L is cheaper than trying to mount a 2.0L and very different electronics into a 2.6L truck--assuming you'd even finish that swap and not destroy the truck in the process!

A lot of Mitsus (Dodge Ram 50 mini truck) use that engine, with some minor differences like ipstick placement....

That 2.6L will get the truck moving a lot better than a revvy 2.0L.

I though that in 89 the mazda b2600i and the mpv were the only thang that used this engine the 2.6 mazda engine and before that it was the mitsubist engine was used and mazda you there engine in 89. we were told that nothing would bolt up to the truck but a 89 b2600i and mvp from 89 to 94 only to cars so we were going to rebuild the engine but the engine is to far gone so we priced a rebuilt engine and it was $3,300 and that we went to looking for a ford engine v6 or 4 I was going to adapt a engine that I run into a 2.0 ford that will bolt right up I was really wanting one with a carb. less wiring so if someone can tell me what has the same as the 2.0 bellhousing but bigger like v6 than I can look in to this Thanks for all help Jason.
