I've been browsing the diesel forms considering that the Expy/Navi fourm are mainly boring. No offense but after reading here I wouldn't want to risk that much money on the luck of a good or a bad engine. Maybe those of you with problems are satisifed but mildly disappointed but from my perspective, reflashes and disabling equipment on the vehicle? No way man, no way.

Do it right, do it once (perhaps twice if you try to run more than 14psi on stock rods, or if you don't read the instructions properly).
What MPH were u cruising at on the highway? I am gonna drive to Colorado next month from way down here in South Texas loaded down with four people and a 50 gallon auxillary tank and would like to know what to expect. Thanks alot for your good thread I agree with all ya had to say.

I would expect that you would get just about the same milage as being empty. 4 people even at 200 lbs each is 800 lbs and 50 gallons more in fuel is about 450 lbs. Even if you have another 500 lbs of luggage, you still only have approx. 1750 lbs of payload. That is a very small load compared to what your 6.0 can carry/pull. I have towed my 12000 lb fifth wheel with my 1995 - F350 - 7.3psd and averaged 10.5 mpg doing 70mph. I say you will get 17-18 mpg on the highway.
Have a safe trip

Txfodiesel,
If the dealership didn't correct for the change in tire size, you are actually probably getting 18 mpg, it just doesn't seem that way. Since the tires are obviously quite a bit bigger than stock, each time the tire turns over you travel further, thus your truck thinks you only went say 300 miles according to the odometer, but in actuality you went 340 miles. Next time you line out on a long haul, check your miles versus mile markers or against someone elses truck. Now you have to realize that if you check it againt mile markers you'll have to travel several miles (probably at least 10) to be able to tell if your odometer is off. You could also check it with a GPS.

Bigsnag, thanks but i did have the dealer reprogram for the bigger tires just in case they didnt do it before the purchase. Had that done when i got the dec. flash. I will check it with gps and see if theres any difference just to make double sure. According to my better half, we are cruising at the same speed on both speedos. Cant wait for the warmer weather to see how much better the mpgs get.
12,100 miles... just took in for another oil change.
have yet to have one PROBLEM with anything ENGINE related.
drive-away clunk, trans solenoid, romping idle (i could'nt have cared less about that), loose front u-bolts...
bought truck, got 17-19mpg, dropped to 13-14, reflashed in october. i get 16.5 low, to 18 now, and i have a 4000 foot elevation change twice a day, drive it like i stole it, and live in the mountains, lots of climbing, and lots of low speed turns to accelerate out of.
i am astouned at the milage....very happy indeed.
