oil leaks

Ok.. here it is.. was looking at my 1997 E150 4.2L race van earlier..Coolent is low.. Lower left side (looking from front) intake manifold is leaking OIL, doesnt seem to be antifreeze and my oil is clean in engine..... theres oil on my oil pan too from front of engine.. question is... I got the lemon didnt I??????? damn... Leaking fords is a hard site to totally understand.. cant seem to find all info i need....... Whats the best replacement gaskets to get???? and who do i have to shoot to get it covered..

Hmm, I've never had to replace them so I really wouldn't know. Did you try calling and asking the dealer? See, the 97 and 98 4.2's had the crap happy gaskets, but the 98 and newer 4.2's have the good ones. Call and get a gasket for a 2000 model 4.2, and you should be fine.

I Heard that ford changed the gaskets on all models...so anything you get should be the upgrade....Is this true?

I would imagine. Just get the gasket for a new (not '04) F150 4.2 and you should be fine. I think they are like $40 - 60.
