Just got my new truck home yesterday evening and had not drove it in the bright sunshine. Today I noticed that the windshield has a line running through my sight line like, many of you seem to have. Will be talking with the dealer this week. Any advise as to what Ford is doing about this issue that appears to be somewhat common?

Angry Go Aftermarket

For those who can get the dealer to get an aftermarket windshield I would jump on that. Not only are some of the windshields defective, Carlite has never made glass worth a flip anyway. I was driving my 04 a few weeks ago and heard a little tap, barely noticed it, until I had a 3 foot crack the next morning.
The cause, a chip no bigger than the head of a pin. I have had rocks hit so hard that they sounded like a gun shot and not crack my glass. I thought about taking to the dealer and complain.
But that would have gotten me know where and if it did I would have the same crappy winshield I started with.
Carlite people need to go to the Gaurdian Glass Plant and learn how to make glass

My 04 Lariat Screw has the wavy horizontal lines in it too. I made the dealer replace the 1st windshield and guess what. The 2nd has the same damn problem. Drives me nuts sometimes and gives me a headache from hell. Ford said they wouldnt replace it a 3rd time so i am holding their feet to the fire until they relent. Crapy carlite glass is all it is. Raise hell with whoever will listen until they fix it. I dont care if they have to put 20 windshields in as I paid over 35K for this thing and bad glass will not be tolerated.

There's always the brick option.

If you have a wavy windshield, it could me your a-pillar is out of line and the windshield must bow to fit.
Just a thought from discussion about the same thing when I got my Focus.

Windshield

I HIGHLY doubt that a wavy A-pillar would cause a wave in the glass. There is nothing clamping the glass to the pillar, therefore, it won't take it's shape. There is a bead of sealant that is put down, and the glass set into that. The sealant acts as a gasket, not a clamp. I'd have to question the quality of the glass coming from the supplier.
