Cool Is my '94 F150 a *******??

Well guys my truck is now at anouther shop for the hard start trouble when warm.
He says its got a code of 212 which he says means that the system requires anouther piece of test equipment that is unique to Ford, and that he feels strongly that there is a problem with part of the computer itself, which is why its sending/displaying this 212 code.
He says that the Ford dealer SHOULD have checked this out as they should have the device (what ever it is called) when THEY got the 212 code.
I just went to the Ford dealer who looked at it for 3 weeks and they admitted that they probably didn't have the equipment due to the fact that they have only been in business for 5 years and that their sister dealership that is only 20 minutes away, but couldn't tell me why they hadn't sought out the other dealers help on this truck in the first place.
Anyway.......Does anyone know for a fact that '94s are *******s as in the first year of mass air-this is what they say causes it to be different from the '95s & '96s??
And does anyone know what the name of the additional piecs of test equipment is called??
The current gut says my computer can be re worked for around $350-$400, is this the way to go, or should I just get a new one outright? that is IF the second Ford dealer IS able to find out that IT IS the computer itself that is partially gone bad.

truth is, fixing them is almost always cheaper than getting another one. Fix whatever you have to and use quality OEM parts.

Is that the only code you have? Have AutoZone pull your codes. You said hard start when warm problem. Can you give us some more details? I think the 212 code is the system pass code, but i will have to check my book in the am.
