1999 Expedition- center console mount 6 cd changer.
The stock cd changer in our 99 Expedition skips whenever we hit a bump in the road. Anyone have suggestions on repair or replacement?

 

Stock mount? or Aftermarket?

 

We purchased the Expy used, but I am pretty sure it is all stock.

 

the nature of cds is to skip your only other option is the kenwood keg or some thing of that nature.

 

some CD changers DO have buffer memory to avoid skips
and I have an Alpine in my dash that I have NEVER heard skip.
there may be something loose internally, it shouldn't be skipping often, unless you're 4bying it or something.
the dealer may be able to help, but it might be cheaper to replace with aftermarket.

 

I have CD problem also when going over bumps. Have to take mag. out and reset CD. any ideas.

 

the audiox replacement changers and plug in cables work extremely well.
And the price isn't bad.
