Sagging Front Bumper

I've seen this on alot of Ranger's and I don't know if it's a regular problem or not,but I just now noticed it on mine.My front bumper is really hanging low lol.I know that I haven't hit anything or the previous owner didn't,so I think that it's just simply loose mounts. What do you guys think? You can see it here.

Those new Liberator's really compliment the truck I think .

Yeah, i'd definantly say you got yourself a sagging bumper, you should have a close look at it to see if you can find any broken (rusted since no collision) bumper brackets. Or maybe just loose bolts, i have a 94 so my stuff is probably different and i dont think i have any problems, so good luck, hope you figure it out

Yeah,I would say that it was sagging also lol.I don't think that it's ever been wrecked. The CarFax Report that I got on it before I bought it said that it wasn't,but then again, the dealer that I bought it from told me that the previous owner tapped a parking post with the right rear fender and they had a body shop repair the damage and paint it.Note the brighter rear fender in the pic. That's all going to change this summer though. That wasn't on the report. It sure doesn't feel like it's been wrecked anyway.I sure hope that it hasn't been...

Anyway,I've got a Haynes Manual and I've been looking at it.I think that I'm going to try and fix it tomorrow. It's not the best looking thing that I've ever seen.Know what I mean?Like I said,I've seen several early 90's models that have the same problem. My 1992 Ranger was the last year that they had that body style. They changed in 1993.So,from like 1989 to 1992...

yeah, now that you mention it, theres a green ranger around here with the bumper similar to that, i thought it was from a crash, since the rear bumper was part torn off, hmm, maybe theres a weak spot in the mounts or the bolts werent tightented properly

Something like that.I'll bet that they get loose as time goes by.Know what I mean? But,who knows.I took a peek under there the other night and there didn't appear to be any broken or bent mounts. All of the bolts looked good.I'll probably get a buddy over here to hold the bumper while I crawl under there to loosen the bolts. Then,he can set it straight and I can tighten the bolts.Probably wouldn't hurt to add a lock washer or some lock-tite to the mix.

Well,I fixed the bumper.Man,this thing looks great now. That sagging bumper took alot away from it.There were 8 bolts,(4 on each side of the bumper,in the middle),that I loosened.I took 3 jacks,(one at the left and right corner and one in the middle of the bumper),and raised the bumper to the position that I wanted it.Then,I eased back under the truck and tightened the bolts as tight as I could get them.I even put a pipe on the wrench to get them the tightest that I could.Maybe I won't have this problem again.
