By the way, bigsnag, you have a nice looking 75. Im thinking about putting 73-75 grill inserts on my 77. i wanted a 75, but i got a good deal on mine, i've always liked the 73-75 grill style.

Thanks for the compliment. The grill inserts can be had for about $15 each.

I used the valley pan with mine. The intake came with instructions?? I had to put a bend in my throttle linkage rod and uncrew it some. As for the surging it could be several things. I would doubt that it is the carb. Those E-bocks usually run so good right out the box. It is likely the timing. If the spacer is open, it could be from the spacer too, though. That should give it a touch of hp at the upper end, but it may hurt it on the bottom and it could be affecting your idle. I did not use a spacer.

I timed it today at 8 degrees, thats what chiltons manual said. It is still surging. At stoplights, right after i come to a stop and i got my foot on the brake, it starts to rev and it almost starts to powerbrake. It does that for a few seconds, and then it starts to die. I was thinking i might have a vacuum leak somewhere. I can feel that it has more power. It has a little more low end than before, but i can really feel the power increase at 2000-4000 rpm. I couldnt help but pass a few people on my way home today. I dont know if this is because of the stealth intake, or if its the secondarys kicking in.

Are you sure all the vacuum lines are hooke dup correctly? Specifically the vacuum advance. Also, make sure that your throttle linkage isn't catching on something as the height of the Stealth could change it's path.

Im pretty sure the vacuum lines are on correctly. It could be the linkage, but i dont know why it would only do it in gear when idleing. It runs just fine in neutral. I am going to retorque the manifold bolts tomorrow when i can borrow the neighbors torque wrench again. I am also going to take the spacer back off, that will help the linkage problem.

I took the 1 inch carb spacer off today and now it runs good. the gasket between the manifold and the spacer had a big black spot on it like it was leaking, but it was on there tight. i might of had a bad spacer or gasket. taking the spacer off also helped out the linkage problem. its not at such of a angle no more.

It does feel stronger than before, I have a little more low end power, but it really takes off from 2000 rpm, like if you are going 35 mph and drop it to 2nd gear and floor it. It really moves now and has a lot of passing power. With my old stock 600 holley carb when i took off at a stoplight it would cut out then go, but now it takes off good and runs really smooth. I will be hauling my 68 Torino on a trailer soon and I will get to see what it does going over the pass with a load behind it. I hope theres a gas station at the top of the pass !!!!!

Glad you are pleased. That's a good intake/carb combo for most people.

I have another problem. Tonight i was going up a hill and gave it the gas to go a little faster, and it studdered a little bit and backfired through the carb and then took off like a raped ape. I cant figure out why, it never does that. My dad said maybe i got a valve sticking. i hope not.
