Fuel and vapor separator on a 85 460 F250???
After 3 trips to the dealer, they found what was missing in my fuel system!
E3TZ-9N176-A "RED DOT" has a .060 dia return hole.
E3TZ-9N176-B "BLUE DOT" has a .040 dia return hole.
Cost is $45 each!
Both are listed as for use on vehicles experiencing fuel starvation or power loss!
You have to check the old one to see what to use!
I dont have the old one!
Just a piece of hose connecting the supply to the carb!
My main plan for now is to put together a brass fitting "T" and make it so I have a .040 hole in the return line side and give it a go and test the fuel pressure and volume--
4 to 6 psi and 1 pint in 20 seconds.
Was anyone on the list around back then (1985) that can give me the scoop on this component?
Why are there only the .040 and .060 listed, because the way it's worded, makes me think there was a standard one with a bigger hole (that caused the starvation and loss of power) installed from the factory?
Do the in tank low pressure pumps cause that much vapor in the lines?

Well, either way I made a separator out of brass fittings with a .040 bleed hole in the return fitting (less than $10 to piece together myself, rather than $45 from the dealer) and will install it and check the pressure and volume tomorrow, and if its too high, I go to .045, then .050, .055, .060 (all values + or - .002) or up to whatever it takes to get the right pressure!
Had to use my Drimmel extension attachment to drill with that small a drill bit!
