Question tire confusion

When you build a truck on Ford's website you typically have a choice of tires. problem is the descriptions on some are identical but with different pricing - anybody know what gives on this?

If the two tires in question are size 275/65R-18, the first one is standard and is a Passenger tire by BF Goodrich. The second is optional and is a heavier duty Light Truck tire by Goodyear.

I just purchased a set of 18" Harley wheels for my F-350 King Ranch SRW,SWB,C.C.,FX4. Factory wheels at the time !0/29/03 were 16" BFG.Now I'm having Trouble finding the 275/65/18E.Goodyear Wrangler A/T are my only choice. I must have a Load E rated tire foe the F-350 Truck. Any suggestions? I have looked till my eyes are crossed, plus these 18" GY are about $150.00 a tire! Dusty4353

I ordered my Fx4 and it came with BFG Rugged Trails (not too impressive). I saw another option number for the same size off road tire when I ordered it, but I don't know what that would have got me.

I dumped the BFG 275/65/18 which came with the truck and bought the Toyo Open Country T/A 285/60/18 which are much wider, better tread, quite, and have an E rating as well!
