The speakers in front and back are 6"X 8". Pioneer makes a two or a three way speaker, I bought the three way from Etronics on the web for $51.00 and they sound great. I only replaced the front speakers. They fit right in, but you will have to modify the plug.

The factory size is 6X8 which is not a good speaker. A circle is better than an oval. So i replaced both front and back speakers with 6.5 inch components. They included the speaker plus a 1 inch tweeter. Huge difference in sound. I also changed the head unit, added an amp to the new speakers and added 3 ten inch subs behind the back seat. Check my gallery for the pic of the sub box. Good luck.

Nice sub setup. I have an 02 SD SC and there is not a whole lot of room for a sub. I'm going to build a box for a 10" solo baric and fit it under the rear seat throw about 400 watts at it and see what it sounds like. I had a killer system in my 89 Bronco and the stock system in my SD is definitely lacking.

I recommend the Pioneer 3-way.....I replaced all four door speakers with them...Sound quality is great....I replaced the Head unit with a Sony....have a Sony 6-disc changer.....I am in the middle of building my center console with two Alpine type R's...12" of course with an Alpine V12 300x2 amp for the subs.....Pics will probably be up on sunday if not def. next weekend
