You are posting in the wrong spot. Go up one level to the 'Perofrmance and General Engine buillding' to post this, or to the FE or 221...351 forum.
A 'Y-block' is an engine that was produced from the early 1950's to the middle 1960's. No 302 or 332 was ever made... There was a 302 small block and a 332 FE block engine, but no Y-block of those CI were made to my knowledge.

I hate to tell you but you are wrong on both accounts. The 302 and 332 are in fact both y-block engines as are the 279 & 317 used in F7 and larger trucks and they are directly related to the 317,341,368 Lincoln Y-block engines. The 332 crank I seek will drop right in a Lincoln motor and is the same stroke as the 368 engine has. I'm in the right place for what I'm looking for, I'll stay down here thanks. Tom

What are ya, Young?? ;^)

Actually, any '61-'65 302/332 with mechanical lifters
is going to be a Y-Block, used in the big trucks...

Seems as though I have caused a lot of confussion with my crank request. I'm still looking for one, although I'm sure most of them are under snow at this time. Maybe in the spring I'll find a old junkyard with some old trucks in it. Stay warm all.

Prostocktom,
You didn't cause any confusion.

This place shows they have one (3.66" stroke) for $150 bucks. It is listed for the 302/332 MEL engine though. Do the MEL and the HD Ford share the same crank?

Hope this helps.

Thanks Kenny, I checked with them several weeks ago, that crank they have is a cast crank, most likely out of 57 Lincoln. The 302/332 MEL crankshafts will drop into any 317,341,368 engine. And since a 368 Lincoln has a 3.66 inch stroke and the 302/332 bothe share a 3.66 stroke it's the perfect way to get a steel crank for a HOTROD LINCOLN . Thanks Tom

Thanks " 312 " I have'nt found a crank yet, so I'm still looking. I'm hoping to find one by late Spring, so I can get to work on it. I have thought of using off the shelf 400 chevy pistons 4.125" bore but might order custom made set with valve reliefs where I want them. I must be crazy for wanting to do this, but I can'nt get the idea out of my head. So I guess I'll have to do it. Thanks Tom

i think it,s because most of us have never owned one.i have always wondered about them.that,s why i bought the 332,i wanted to see what they were about.the engine was in a building in a scrap yard that was closing.i probley would have put one in something except there are no lincoln versions around here.have you ever been to www.y-blocksforever.com great site and they will probly fix you up with a crank.if you search that site you will find a fellow called royce brechler.he,s into 368,s in mercurys.he got 375 hp. out of one.he had a real battle no good intakes, had to settle for a reground cam etc.he has a great site with all his work on it.you will find his site on there.another fellow you will see there is bob martin.he races 317 lincolns.these fellows have lots of parts and info.good luck.

I have already looked at those sites. Thanks I'm in the process of making a new intake for the Lincoln engine so that will take care of that problem, and I own a 9 axis CNC lathe so I can make any camshaft I need from a blank. I'm building some really cool parts for my engine. Just looking for some good core parts to play with. Tom

How can you tell a 302 from a 332? Local junkyard has an engine on the ground.

hi; 302-332 use the same crank. the MEL series was bigger than the early y-block ,linc. the MEL has a bore spacing of 4.90 same as the 429-460. the linc.y-block has a 4.625 bore spacing, only .005 different than the FE. i believe the FE bell bolt pattern is real close but the dowl pins are off. the 368 has over 11" deck hight and 7" rods. olds has the same bore center and they used up to 4.25 stroke cranks. also i've checked and with a set of adaptor plates you could use 383 mopar intakes. ford FE lifters are the same. wayne in central ohio.
