i have a 97 expedition with the 5.4. my check engine light has been coming on every once in a while and when i check the code out with my obd 2 it says either insufficient or excessive egr flow. should i replace the egr valve completly, or can i just take it out and clean it. could it be something other than the valve itself. thanks for any help you can give me.

First, try cleaning the EGR valve, then if it doesnt fix the problem, replace it. Be sure to clear the codes after you replace the valve.
