sky is falling

I have a '81 F-100. The cloth on the inside roof has come loose and is just hanging from the edges. What is the best way to get it back up. It is in good shape, just loose.

Thanks

When it starts coming down there is little you can do about it. The foam dry rots under the cloth and seperates from the headliner panel.

That will work for a while.

The spray glue works till the edge of where it is falling loose, comes loose some more. Run with the windows down and it tears more loose. Of course thats not an issue in most places now.

I fought this same battle, finally took the panel out and just finished tearing it off. Wire brushed the rotten foam from the headliner panel and stuck it back in. Was not pretty, but it got it off my head.

But I realize he said it is in good shape otherwise.

rotten headliner

headliner kits are available; include colored fabric with foam backing and spray adhesive. Did this on passenger car this past summer; moldings took the time. Easy and looks professional.

My cousin uses this method:

Pull the headliner, get some fabric you like from the local walmart or fabric store, scrap it clean, spread liquid nails around smoothly, then lay the fabric down and give it a good rolling..
