O2 Sensor Malfunction

I own a 1996 Explorer Sport with a 4.0 liter engine. Recently the "check engine" light seems to have developed a mind of its own. It turns on and off at various intervals. I have not been able to see any real pattern to it.

I had it tested at Auto Zone while the light was on and I got the diagnostic code "PO141". I'm told that this is a O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2).

The guys at Auto Zone weren't exactly sure which of Sensors was at fault.

Does anyone know which O2 sensor is (Bank 1, Sensor 2)?

98 Sport

I have a 98 Sport with the 4L SOHC engine. On mine, bank 1 is the passenger side (same side as the #1 cylinder); and I believe sensor #2 is the REAR sensor (after the catalytic converter).

Good Luck,
Sandy
