Air tool oiler won't fill

I recently purchased an inline air tool oiler for my air tools, but I am having the strangest problem filling it. I bought air tool oil at Sears (it is pink/purplish) and when I try to pour a very small amount into the hole, it won't go in! It just puddles on top of the hole, kind of like water does with surface tension. I have tried sticking a toothpick into the hole and pouring next to it, to break any surface tension and to allow air to escape as I pour in - that didn't help. I even tried poking it down with a small screwdriver - all I got was an oily screwdriver and an empty oil resevoir. Have you guys seen this? Is it the oil I bought? I am a little new to air tools (Santa was good to me ).

I have used a hand pump oil can to fill mine, when I had one. I don't like them and prefer to oil my tools directly. I don't want the oil in the airlines due to occasional painting.

I use a 18 gauge needle with a 3cc syringe to fill mine. It is mounted right next to the tool with quick connectors so as to move it to different impact tools. But I don't do any spray painting and I'm strictly amateur.

If it has a very small hole you will have to fill it with a syringe of the type that is used to give kids medicine which you can buy at any drugstore.

You can check out my air tool oiler in my gallery. The hole in it is half an inch across so it is no problem to fill.

Do not use a central lubricator if you ever want to use your air lines for painting. A central lubricator does not deliver a good oil mist to the air tools either. Most of the oil ends up condensing on the sides of the airline and makes a mess.

Thanks for the pics, torque1st. I planned on connecting it right next to my tools as I've read you should do. I'll get a syringe the next time I'm at the drug store and go with that.
