well, if your meaning 03 compared to 06 then yes, the fuel and comp issues has been resolved. if your meaning there are complaints about the 06's still, then tell me one car company that doesn't have complaints. even my mom has a complaint about her 05 toyota corrolla, and if you go on other forums, there are complaints about every vehical made.
and who ever says the 6.0 wasn't dependable? i hardly think a comp proplem makes an engine more or less dependable, don't worry, 10 years from now you will still see plenty of 03's PSD 6.0 on the road. never had a prob with my 04, can't say the same about my friends dodge cummins, no engine probs, just a bunch of minor trans probs that keeps it off the road enough to drive anyone crazy!!

I did months of researching before buying my 6.0L powered '05 F250. In the end, I acknowledged that they had some definite issues with the early ones. Ford Motor Co. isn't the first company that this has happened to, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. On the up side, there have been quite a few fixes provided in both the mechanics/hardware & software (programming of the PCMs) to address the vast majority of these problems. And, from what I've read, Ford has dug deep into its bottom line to try & make things right. Granted, some dealerships have made the process downright painful for some people, but I blame most of that on the individual dealerships more than on some master plan on Ford's part to avoid paying out on warranty claims.
As for the complaints, there's a saying/statistic that claims a satisfied customer may tell two people about a good experience, but an unsatisfied customer will tell nine people about a bad experience. That really seems to hold true on forums like this. They tend to get "flooded" with threads regarding problems that people are having, but it is generally to reach out to others that may have had the same problem or have the expertise & knowledge to tell them how to fix the problem. And, quite frankly, I can think of no better place for these problems to land other than in a community with a shared interest & passion.
On a semi-related side note, I have seen this exact same thing happen on various Toyota Land Cruiser and Mopar/Dodge related forums that I've frequented over the past decade or so. Ford Truck Enthusiasts is definitely no exception.
Quick edit: This is a perfect example: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=463432
