no hi beam one side/not the bulb

We bought a police interceptor 2004 Ford(crown vic) and dr side has no hi beam. After rreplacing the bulb to no avail, I checked and don't have any power to hi beam at the connector by the radiator which goes to headlight conn. The headlights seem to be wired seperately so my question is where do I go from here. All assoc. fuses tested ok. This car had a lot of things removed that was police additions. I don't see any messy wiring and nothing looks tampered with. It won't pass inspect with no hi beam one side. Guy said maybe headlight switch. what do you think? ps dome light doesn't come on unless you do it manually and seems some of dash lights are out(not a problem)

The later cars and trucks had separate fuses in the fuse box under the hood for the headlights. If I remember correctly, they had one for each highbeam and one for both lowbeams. If the fuses check good, pull the headlight switch on and go to highbeams, and check for voltage at the fuse sockets.

It cannot be the headlight or the multi-function switch. It's some other open circuit in the driver's side high beam, probably a missing wig-wag jumper from when the police lights were removed. The low-beams are individually fused on the CV, the highs are in parallel with each other and the dash indicator.

Third time trying to reply...The owners manual is loaded with police options in the fuse box and power box under hood and the wig-wag is certainly one of them. The quick remedy was a permanent jumper from working hi beam to the non working side. We had the dash apart and found some connectors hanging around from removed police eqpt. The wig-wag is when headlites flash in alternating pattern I guess.

No dome light unless I turn the wheel on dash. No button in door jamb. What's up with that?

Buttons on the later Fords are made into the door latches. If the cops didn't re-wire something, usually wd40 in the latch will get it working again.

Thanks about the door latch/dome lite. I was wondering if the police didn't want the dome lite coming on all the time as it has a battery powered lite stuck to the headliner like you would put in a closet.
