front end shimmy/vibration on right curves
I have a persistent problem with my 95 F350 Crew Cab, 2WD. Since about ~160,000 miles occasionally I get a mild to severe vibration in the front end while driving at 45-65 MPH in a right hand curve. Cranking the wheel just a bit either way brings it right out. It has never occurred in a left curve. We've tried rebalancing tires, new tires, rotating tires, front end alignment (it was right on the money). All steering components are tight, ball joints, bearings, & axle pivots also all tight. Front stabilizer has all new urethane bushings & I also put on a steering stabilizer/hydraulic damper. New shocks made no difference. Radius arm bushings & nuts are also all tight. The truck tracks well at highway speeds with virtually no drift or pull. No unusual tire wear has been noted: I get ~50,000+ miles out of each set of Hercules LT235R-85 16s that I put on it, rotated front<->rear every 6,000 miles; pressure maintained @ ~70 psi (Load Range E). The truck now has >280,000 miles on it.
Overall I like the truck & have no plans of replacing it. This is not a big thing, just an occasional irritant. Any thoughts? Others with similar problem?
Thanx,
dn.
