overdrive lock ups?
I have a 16' enclosed trailer we load with 2 fourwheelers when we go racing and riding. The truck has plenty of power with the 5.4 and 4.10 gears but the tranny shifts out of overdrive as soon as you get on it a little bit. It would be great if i could get a lock up that would keep it in overdrive while at highway speeds. I know that they have them for the PSD but they wont work because they hook up to the computer. I got a budy that is a shop foreman at a local ford garage and they couldnt find anything through ford either. Any ideas of were to look next?????
Thanks

I think a Banks TransCommand or something similar is what you're after. It's an aftermarket computer module that works with your stock computer to control (aka increase) line pressure, thereby firming up shifts and helping to keep the torque converter locked. This should prevent the transmission from doing the "hunting" behaviour that the E4OD and 4R100 are famous for.
I think there are a coule guys on this board that have this device or something similar. I'm sure they'll help you out when they get around to your question.
