P.S. What is required of me as a member of this Chapter?

We demand that you come here often and have fun.....OK... no demands. Right now we are still in the organizing stage. We have no major requirements, except that when you come to FTE, you enjoy yourself, hopefully post now & then and try to attend any get together or happenings in your area. The prime directive is to have fun, meet other Ford Truck owners and share experiences or knowledge.

Sounds like you are well on your way to a complete rebuild of your truck. I know how it is to buy something that needs a lot of work to begin with, but once you get caught up, you should have a pretty nice truck.

Please check this forum when ever you stop by. We are currently working on a logo and some tee shirts.

Welcome to the Drifters.

Yeah, we're on our way to having a pretty spiffy truck! I get frustrated when I have problems with it and there are somethings that I haven't figured out yet (the fuel transferring from rear to front tank??? I'm guessing its the fuel tank selector valve but it sounds like a pain to get to and if I remember correctly is a Ford only part and of course the dealership charges twice what I'd want to pay for it!) but its really been a great truck. My first vehicle that was truly mine (I paid for and was in my name) was a Chevy Beretta. Now while I have to at least try to pretend like I hate Chevy's (my husband is a Chevy guy - his off-road race truck- but his daily driver is a Ford too) it wasn't a bad little car. It was in ok shape when I bought it and I had a few little accidents in it (got me a nice 5 pt whitetail with it, part of the license plate was the letters DT and my stepdad thought it was great fun to call it a "Deer Target"....or "Dork Transport" take your pick). Then I got rear ended (totalling the car money wise) but still got MILES and MILES off it. I was pretty desperate for a truck though, and just couldn't find what I wanted. One day I was driving along Bench blvd in the Heights (which was odd for me, totally out of my way) and there was my baby sitting on the side of the road for sale. Fit my budget perfect (yeah enough left over even to rebuild the engine a month later!). It IS older but in AWESOME shape for an '88. The interior is a less-than-lovely tan, but in such good shape I really can't complain. The brown stripes down the side aren't real cute either but they don't look BAD, I guess.

I think the best thing about being a Ford-lover though is getting to tease my husband about Chevy's. He really hates the joke (well, maybe I tell it a LITTLE too often) about the new Chevy campaign (that they're giving away a free puppy with a purchase...so you don't have to walk home alone). I may have even heard that here!

Ahhh, thats the life!

Wow... if an '88 is an older truck, then what does that make mine?

J/K... welcome to the Drifters!

Well I don't know if you can be a member of 2 different chapters but I hope yall'll (<- you like that) let me hang out here while I'm up here in great falls for the next couple of years.

I'm Josh, from Beaumont Texas, I'm 22, I just moved up here about a month ago and I live outside of great falls. Been a ford guy all my life and just bought my 6th ford truck and I'll pick it up in helena tomorrow. Its a 94 F350 reg cab 4x4 with a new 460. I had to get it because my 95 stroker doesn't like the cold...and its only may/june! I didn't want to get stuck up huntin in the mountains and have the diesel not start on me but I'm still gonna keep it around for those warmer days that I keep hearin about.
I might be interested in some of yall's get-togethers because I've missed all the Texas ones since being away from the homeland since '99 - colorado then a couple of misserable months in commifornia.

I probably won't be on much till maybe late Aug. when the price of satellite internet goes down, long distance dial up isn't practical out here in the sticks.

You are going to be in Montana for a couple years...ok, I can live with that. So, where's your application request? And welcome to the Drifters. ( I always send an email out to all who join, but I thought I'd start ya out right. ) If you can... consider coming up to Kalispell for the 1st (Annual?) NW Montana High Plains Drifters meet.

Hello,

Been a member here for a few years. I live in South West Iowa and work near Omaha, NE. I drive a 2002 F250 and previously owned 2 Rangers. I used to be fairly active but recently got a promo at work and don't have as much time. I work as a Sys Admin for a Telco Equipment company. See you all later.

Welcome to the Drifters...again... and thanks for giving me a reason to post my 1000th post! It's nice when folks join and let us know about themselves and their truck even if just a bit. I love to go check out the galleries and see what everyone drives. Check mine out... I also have some pics posted of some of my older beastlies that I used to have over the years. I wish I'd taken pics of all of em, but oh well......

you dont have to hate chevys to be a ford person, frankly i love them and all those other little rice burning cars on the highway, they keep my tools from rusting, and i might make that kalispell meet, if even just for a few hours while i am passing thru.
