mischief bandaged

While i still spell badly I can confirm the german engeering of fords and the host of supply companys like delphi and behr who
fabricated ford parts and supplied a ford motor with a bottom bolton structural plate. bosh injectors bosh high pressure fuel pump and sensors.
if you think all that is bad you should have heard the hell i got for saying that a duramax is a jap version of a 6.5 gmc, now that was ugly

They "Hype" over them because they ARE that good.........How many folks have dropped 5.9 Cummins into assorted Fords, Chevy's, Dodges? Lots of them! When was the last time you heard of a Duramax getting put into a Ford or Dodge, or a Powerstroke being installed into a Dodge or Chevy? Say what you want about the various trucks, but any diesel mechanic will tell you just how good a 5.9 Cummins is

Factor in that they go into a dodge that is not as well built as a ford. There is a 52.9% chance it won't even make it to the jobsite. Running or not.

I drive a 06 5.9 dodge 4 door long bed for work. I own a 06 f250 cc 4x4. The dodge would be a far better truck with a standart tranny. It has power in a very small power band. If it down shifts and the rpms go up you loose speed. My 6.0 ford... It literally pulls hard from the time the turbos begins to spool and with the vgt turbo of the ford unlike the dodge there is very little turbo lag. The 5.9 is a ok engine but in all honesty it is just a ok engine. Navistar makes a engine of the same displacement and configuration that is capible of 3x the power of the cummins on a stock engine. The dt360 is truely a bad ****. If. They had have put them in a light duty truck at any point in time they would be hugely popular in the pulling classes because of their stregenths. It is basically a beefier 5.9

Back when I had my '93 (had to sell due to the body literally falling apart), I had it rigged up so it would only shut off by pulling a cable (the Dodge electronics died). You could take the battery out, pull start it, and drive around.

I also started it one time when it had been sitting for two or three days at about 0 degrees (not plugged in). I let the grid heater cycle once and it took right off. It had 15-40 too. Try that with an IDI.

Aaaahhhh blasphemy its impossible only a cummins can do that. As long as the wiring dosent fail so it can't be started or as long as you have a tow vehicle to pull start your dodge.. Kinda makes you wonder why you would want to keep one of those around huh?

yea.
just like how every cummings powered dodge ever made gets 45+ miles per gallon, while making 950hp and 1400 ftlbs torque on the dyno.
but they can't show you the dyno slip because they misplaced it.

and we all know that black smoke means power. the more black smoke your diesel makes, the more hp it makes.

i wanted to own one because they looked easy to work on, but with all the craze and the hipster doofusus turning them into a fad, it turned me sour towards the cummins.
