I had a pet wolf a few years back that loved the antelope, she would chase them all day, and pass them with a confused look on her face.. I don't think she knew how to catch 'em.. She did not have that problem with rabbits.

Antelope are the fastest mammals on the planet, I know everyone thinks the cheetah is, but they can only run that fast for a short while, antelope can do it all day long.

Coincidentally their meat is a very deep red, from the super rich blood supply, and they have a huge heart.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't know about that.
I used to work with a few Male mammals that could clock out and be gone in a flash
My neighbor has clocked them at 60 MPH, they will run alongside your truck, they are just playing.
Fastest I ever got an antelope to run was 48 mph. I was on my quad, and decided to chase 'em.. Yeah, I know, kind of stupid, but they were there, I was too, and I had the means to make a lot of noise, and there was nothing for about 30 miles in any direction.. I gave up when I kept catching up to 'em.. I went and chased rabbits then. Using a quad to chase things with is not the best way to fill the freezer though.
Even 48 MPH is faster than anything out here. Except maybe a mountain lion, I'm not to sure how fast they can move, but I know they aren't slow.
A Cheetah moves at either 62 or 68 MPH & yes in short bursts.
