Question Front Solid Axle Conversion???

I have a '95 F-150 4WD with the Dana 44 TTB dual shock tower up front. I want to,if possible, get into contact with anyone who has either converted their own truck and/or done someone elses. I am curious about costs and any headaches that may come. From what I understand it is a pretty painless swap, but as with anything, I may be a little off....If anyone has any luck with a strong upgrade to the TTB, that info may be very helpfull as well....

This swap is real popular on Broncos. A ton of people have done it. Check the Bronco forum here (search would be a good idea) and also ford-trucks.com.

A guy on another site just did his. Cost him 2500 to have a shop do it. I got quoted 3K to put a 60 in the front of mine. I do know if you can find the axle yourself it is cheaper. Just make sure it has all of the parts you need or it can nickle and dime you to death.

My buddy and I did a SAS on my 94 back in 2001, and I've never looked back. Best mod ever, fairly easy, parts are available for the conversion, and you don't need an expensive kit. If you tell us how much lift you need I can give you a good parts list. I have swap pics in my gallery.
