Question 96 club wagon belt screaching no alt.charge

Had a problem starting my 96 club wagon last eve.
I got the van to turn over ...the belt was obviously burning/screatching
Obvious no charge noticing the voltage drop off befor stalling.

Being quite late I didn't get a chance yet to check it out.
My assumption is the belt failed or alternator seized.

Is there only one belt? sepentine, and is the replacement straight forward?
I'm guessing something may have frozen being very cold recently.
I'll have a better idea tonight in 10 degree temps.

If you've been there done that please share any input.

Thanks/D
