Post headlights & suspension

What's with the " jeweled effect" headlights on the 03 SD XLT's? Are they mega bucks to replace? Also on a SD SC LWB do I need a heavier suspension option to haul 1800 lbs. everyday plus an occasioal 400-500 lbs. extra?getting ready to do it and don't want to make a big $ mistake . thanks

The only thing I know about the headlights is that they look .
As far as weight is concerned you may want to opt for a 350 vs a 250.The standard tires are a bit larger and are load range E instead of load range D.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

All the 2002's had clear headlights... if that is what you mean by "jeweled".

Alright, here's the correction.
My 2001 F250 has stock 265's on with an E load range. I ordered it that way from the factory. So, even if the F250's don't have them on the lot, they can be had.
Go with the F350. If you need a piece of mind, get the heavy duty service package(s). And if that isn't enough, then there are after market products that can help.
Good luck.

I routinely haul 1,500+ lbs of materials in the back of my 350 for work. In the past, I even loaded up 2 cubic yards of decomposed granite (materials yard said it was about 2200 lbs/yd??) to haul to my house to fill in a large stump hole. If you're concered about load carrying capability, spend the few hundred extra bucks and get the 350.

I had the same concerns last May when I was about to order a 250. Glad I opted for the 350 now.
