Dealer Buy back

Visited with dealer who is working on truck; didn't buy it there but take out of warranty vehicles for service. Selling dealer couldn't find thier butt with both hands. Dealer and service manager said after they get it running again to immediately take it to the selling dealer and inform them they will own this sucker. They said I will be charged mileage given the opportunity to choose from stock or order a new unit.
Anyone who can enlighten me please help. Servicing dealer suggested this,I explained I just want a engine he said that as expensive as it was they aren't about to do this.
I don't take this lightly, and still have reservations about this, I really need a little insight into this process.
Thanks

I sent you an email. The DSB is cut and dry and a great way to get what you deserve.

I'm in the process of a buy back. i have 37000 miles and they say i have to pay .20 cents for each mile and i have to buy a trucker of equal or greater value. it seems to me that ford will make money off me 3 times in this process.
The best thing to do is get your regional manager's number from your service manager at the dealership where you purchased it. it is a large pain in the ***. Good luck.

called 1-800-392-FORD(3673) need VIN etc etc tell them you need DSB form; look up lemon law for your state,I'll be interested to see how it progresses.Much thanks to J Lauer for info. My servicing dealer said he had seen mileage charges from 0.00 to 0.20 per mile depending on severity of problem. He also told me you could take a vehicle out of stock or order a new one. He also stated that you buy it at invoice less hold back and any other incentives applied. Good luck.

The biggest lesson here!!!!!! THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS!!!! (DSB) Dispute Settlement Board. Ask a dealer near you.

Did you make an oral presentation at the DSB hearing? Normally they would give you an outcome before you left. I will send an email with details or you can email me a contact number for you and I will give you a call.

dont pay it

The paying for the miles thing is bull. It is one of Fords ways of trying to get a bit more money from you. I refused to pay it when I went through my process.

I ended up not paying it. Just tell them you are not paying it. You did not get what YOU paid for, why should Ford get something in return?

I told the serv. mgr. I wanted the local rep. and I want a new truck.

I told the rep I WANT A NEW TRUCK. He kept telling me, "We, Ford, can make 1 or 2 of your payments until we get the ISSUE resolved".

I WANT A NEW TRUCK.

Say this several thousand times to the rep, they will get the message. Get his/her cell phone number and call them EVERYDAY. I did.

I had the rep call my cell phone, thats where i got his number from.

I did not go through any process. Just the serv. mgr. and the rep.

They replaced all my after market stuff. They would not let me keep anything I added to my first truck.

"Love the Ford part Disappointed in the INTN'L Harvester part"

You have a NAVISTAR engine. Trust me if you had an International Harvester engine you wouldn't be having problems (maybe an IH transmission but the engines are gold). I have 2 peices of equipment with IH 466 engines and one with a 361 engine, all three are turbo charged. The two 466s have near 20K HOURS on them, the 361 has 22k HOURS plus (hour meter didn't work for two years). All three are functioning on single major overhauls that costed less then the cost of replacing the injectors on your 6.0 engine.

Sounds more like a sales promotion then a warranty program.

I went to my hearing today, ( problems with bad vibration at idle and at 1500 rpm, poor fuel economy 11 mpg, loss of power ) they didn't give me the results but did say I would be happy with their decision so I assume I will be getting a new truck, I'll let you know in about 7 days.
