Throttle Linkage

I need help!!! I put a 240 six in my '61 pick up and am stuck on the best way to replace the throttle linkage. Should I try to work with the rod assembly or some how change to a cable rig. Any suggestions or comments you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you need to swap to the cable throttle from a 65-67 econo with the big 6 in it. you could probably make a linkage system that would work, but it might be more trouble than it was worth. of course it might be easier to make one than to find the 65-67 cable and pedal. it would require a couple of pivots and bell cranks to work properly, but that might be the fastest thing to do.

Thanks for the suggestion. I may have "bitten off more than I can chew", but I'll give it a try. Any other suggestions or comments would still be appreciated.
