F350 SCS steering box

This is my second used power steering box. The pitman arm shaft bushings wear out. I am running 33x12.50x16.5 tires. I have searched for but can not find anything listed regarding an upgraded rebuilt power steering box. I remember reading about one that has bearings in it instead of bushings.

Or are there any other recomendations

Thanks
Joe

You may just have to look thru every post re steering box. Searching isn't perfect I remember seeing something about one with needle bearings also.

Have you checked the links in my gallery?

Mark,
I highly recommend that you get a steering gear box rebuilt by Red-Head Steering Gears in Seattle, WA (206-364-3333). Rebuilding gear boxes is all they do. They machine in a bearing at the bottom of the housing to support the output shaft. The orginal Ford design did not have anything to support this shaft (a bad design). A new box will cost you a little more than one out of a parts house ($250) but they are worht the extra cost.

Thanks Joe

76 150 4x4 Tire Size

JS,

I also have a 76 F150 4X4 with 33/12:50X15" and not real pleased with handling or wear and tear. What was the original tire size for this vehicle?
Thanks, John

There are many posts here with OEM tire sizes listed as well as the closest new equivalents.
