Post Navigation system

Does anyone have a suggestion on a good GPS system? Looking for a portable one close to the $500 range.

It is a lot of fun to take back roads with my FX4, but some of them sure can take you off a map.

Thanks

Den01,

I've been using a Garmin III Plus since it hit the market years ago .. it's similar to the Garmin V, which replaced it.

I've got a pc, and to be able to download detail maps from the Roads and Recreation CD is absolutely great for travelling.

I was also told Garmin has an edge in mapping accuracy due to all the gov't contracts they have.

Den,
I have used a Garmin GPS-V for the past two years. Works great both on and off road and overseas too (if you buy the right maps). It is very accurate and has saved my bacon more than once in Europe AND the US.

If you have a laptop, check out:

www.delorme.com

I've had this software & GPS receiver for years, and it works great!!!! This package has a lot more features, than the
stand alone Garmin, and Magellan GPS units, and is a lot cheaper!!

Thanks,

I went with the garmin GPS-V, Except for the smaller screen it seems to be a great buy.

Any update on Ford offering a Nav system as part of the overhead modules?

I thought I remembered a thread here last month that discussed the availability of such an add-on sometime soon? Isn't there an FTE member that works on the development team for this product that had details of this?
