Tire size limitations / Project mpg
I have been thinking of getting bigger tires on my truck and I was wondering how big I could get without clearance issues. Forgive me if it has been posted but the search function hasn't worked for 10 minutes. I have a stock 1989 f-150 lariat(no lift).
Awhile ago I was pointed at a link for an f250 i believe, and their goal was to get over 16 mpg, I was wondering if anyone still had the link. I think they said it was ispired by the article in four wheeler called project MPG

yes, it was called project MPG. in the article it was an F-350 centurion conversion with a 460 that was getting 7.5 mpg before mods. as i recall, they added a K&N drop in, headers, exhaust, a gear vendors overdrive, and a few other expensive odds and ends. they ended up getting around 11 mpg average. 16 mpg in an f-250? point me to that link! i wish i could get more than 10-12!
