Replacing EGR Valve On 1993 Pace Arrow

I need to replace a defective EGR valve on our 1993 Pace Arrow, which rides on the F53 Super Duty chassis and has the Ford 460 engine. Any tips before I start? One auto parts store rep said it was an "easy job", and another auto parts store rep (different store) said it was "difficult", and you needed a torch to get the old EGR valve off. Anyone on this forum replaced the EGR valve on this engine? Can I do this myself or do I have to pay to have it done? I can see the EGR valve at the top left side of the engine---the clearance is tight. The engine mounting bolts for the EGR valve appear fairly easy to reach from the interior "doghouse". The lower exhaust tube bolt looks more challenging. Would it be easier to reach the lower exhaust tube bolt from beneath the engine if I raise the front hydraulic jacks?

Any hints to make this job easier (if I decide to tackle it) will be highly apprecated!

The job is done. The hardest part was removing the old EGR valve. In fact, I broke the ratchet mechanism on my 1/2" socket drive while loosening the exhaust tube bolt! This after soaking all the nuts/bolts overnight with lubricant. Continuing on after I got a new 1/2" socket drive, the old valve finally gave up. I cleaned the old mounting surfaces and used anti-seize on all the threads so I won't encounter the same routine if I ever need to replace the EGR valve again.

I disconnected the battery to reset the computer and cleaned the battery terminals while doing so. After a few "hiccupps" the previously rough running engine now purrs like a kitten. A truly remarkable improvement!
