Why do socks stretch out???
I usually buy white tube socks. The ones you get in a bag. The last bunch I got were fine the first time I wore them. After 1 or 2 washings, they are like...shot, feel way to loose.
Who makes a sock that lasts? I wear these with boots. I want not too thin and not too thick. I know, I am picky.

stretch out ?!
Mike, I have to wonder a couple of things. What kind are you buying ? Cotton ? Or some of the newer miracle fibers ? I have never had the stretch problem. I think we have the shrink problem at our house. My wife and I are not by any means skinny people, and finding socks that are large enough for our legs can be difficult. But we are not huge, either. Are your legs average for what most guys have ? Having been a jogger for many years has seemed to have left me with much bigger calves than most folks. DF

Better question: Why do all clothes Dryers EAT only one from each pair ???
A cosmic event happens at random intervals all across this world, which is the moment you loose the sock. Each dryer has a force within it, when you are drying socks this force is energized....by the cosmic event. As the event is spinning around the world (at phenomenal speeds) when it passes each dryer, WACK, it gets the sock. This is not an audible sound to humans, I just know what it sounds like.
There is some theories about why one sock,.... but none validated thorough real science.
The fact that the cosmos actually needs cotton and rayon is not widely known. I probably should not be releasing his information to the public, but cotton and rayon is the fabric of the universe. A very little known fact. You see (the universe) can only use the small amounts found in socks to repair temporal rifts that occur within the space-time continuum.
I mean come on what else is better to repair something than with what it is made of.
Remember when you loose a sock it has transitioned to a much bigger cause.
PLEASE keep this information to yourself, I do not want to cause a disturbance in the universe.

I have to agree with Fordman 102. We currently have a sock thief. She's a 75 lb dobie that will sometimes steal daddies socks off his feet, when in the right mood. Everyone is warned who sits in the lazyboy chair. Don't wiggle your toes!
If this dog DOES take your socks, good luck getting them back. There's a big yard in back. She likes to stand just outside the back door, to taunt you. As soon as you get close, she runs, and waits for you to chase her. If you come back in the house, she runs right back to the door again. This is known as the sock game.
And that's our story.
