Anyone have experience with BA SL80 5x7" speakers? I am thinking about replacing my OEM speakers in my Superduty with 4 of these, and wondered how the sound/fit was.

I tried the search here but did not find much on the BA line.

I would also like to know what other speakers folks like in their
SD / Excursion trucks.

Specificly those speakers no. Boston Acoustics has a really nice line of products and I'm sure they'd sound good.

You do know you can fit 6x8s instead of 5x7s too don't you?

 

Yes, I understand the 6x8 fit too. I really want a crisp sound with nice bass, but not necessarily ear-splitting dBL's. That is why I think the SL80's would fit my need. Do you have a rec. for a 6x8 mfg. that would fit this bill too? TIA.

I recently put in the SL 80's into my 2003 F150 and they are great. For the size and the ease of drop in speakers, they defentaly rank among the best for the price. Then quality of sound and tightness of the base really shows thanks to there encorporated two element crossover. I also looked at Alpine, JL Audio, Infinity ....etc. But you need to get what sounds the best to your ears.
