Lift with Western Plow

I just put 285s on my truck and would like to do a mild lift--say 2" front and rear. I plan on installing the spring blocks from a 99 SD in the rear but and concerned about the lifts for the front.

I have the snow plow prep package so my truck sits level now. I just want to give it a little height. The few kits I have seen include a new set of spring shackles or spring mounting points. The problem is that with the Western Pro plow mount, it mounts over the shackle. Have any of you run into this? How did you get around it? What kits work well for this?

I have been jonesing for a lift since I bought the truck and had the plow installed because the plow mount hangs down to exactly the hight of most curbs and parking blocks around here. Another 2" would be key.

Thanks,

Big

Lift with Western Plow

if u go to high u will have to lower your plow mount i went to high on my 2000 f350 and had to get a different plow bracket when i plowed it would leave a trail right in the middle if i was angled it worked fine but plowing with blade straight left a trail pain in the butt changing it in the winter

I run a 6 inch on my 01 f250, with a western all I had to do was move the frame down a couple holes on the brackets. I also run a rear plow with no problem.

I believe there is a kit that involves only a add a leaf, that might work for you.

Which levelling kit do you have? I saw a Tuff-Country kit that had new shackles and extra springs that looked like it would work. I have also seen kits that use existing springs but new shackles that place the connection point lower. I don't think this would work on my truck because the Western plow mount bolts over the existing shackle.

Thanks for the tips.

Lift with Western Plow

Im not shure if the shakle type lifts work with a plow frame.I have the jack-it kit that just adds leafs to the front springs.I am very happy with the kit,and it was simple to install.I orderd it thru a ad in 4-wheeler magazine.
