help body lift or not

I have a 1995 Bronco XLT. I want to put 33's on it. Superlift tire size chart as well as others give 31's as biggest size in stock form. I went to 4 x 4 shop and they told me that if it was there's they would do a body lift. The guy could go 2" and fit 33's. Any info. on this? Thanks

You can fit 33s stock, but it will rub if you offroading, My 82 has 33s on it. As soon as I have the money, i'm putting a 3" body lift on my 82.
A 2" or 3" would give plenty of room for 33s.

yea i completely agree with broncoroadkill it will give it plenty of room for the tires but you might get alittle mud and dirt up in the engine compartment with a body lift

You can buy filler kits to fill in the gaps on the fender wells when a body lift is installed.
I personally like body lifts, they improve the gas filler neck angle, making it easier to gas up. Also, they give you more room to work on the t-case and tranny. And give more room to get the bell housing bolts.

Talked to tec guy at superlift today. He said 33's would still rub with 3" body lift. Said 32's would be better choice. I have not seen any truck up close with body lift. What other mods do you have to do with a body lift? I know you have to move front bumper and I guess rear bumper, but what about fan shroud any wires, etc.

I think that tech guy thought you were talking about a 2wd truck, the 2wd springs are lower than the 4wd. My 33s rub a little and 3 extra inches will give them plenty of room.

the problem with body lifts are they arent strong what so every. there is extra strain on the bolts and they will bust becoming very dangerous, thats why most 4x4 shops wont even install them. body lifts are cheap but you get what you pay for. and your suspension stays stock which sucks off road. a suspension lift gives you height, better flex and better ride.

What about a leveling lift....it lifts the front end like 1.5"-2" and since I run 32's stock I am sure that it would allow you to put the 33's in there no problem. I am planning on doing this myself when I need to get new tires.

I told the tec guy what I had. He said normal driving it would not rub. But I have seen a few Broncos here that have 33's without a lift. Most of them move front bumper and use rims with dif. back spacing. Thanks for all the info. Just want to get the most for my buck. Does anyone know anything about Tuff Country lift kits?

BULL CRAP

One of my '79s has a "store bought" self installed 3" body kit. It does also have 4" suspension kit, no slam on the susp. kit. However i must disagree with the statement on the body kit.

This Bronco has seen some serious 4x4ing, over 20 years worth. Crurb jumping, rock bouncing, mud fun - enough to even crack the rear top...................And it gave me the lift i was looking for with out going with the 6" suspension kit.

The maufactures of these kits know what grade bolts to use. They don't want a lawsuit. Now, i would say screw homemade kits - my life is worth more than that. :-staun
